RUMOR – al-Qaeda Experiencing Technical Difficulties

Some of you may remember when the Connecticut Survivalist Alliance (CSA),
reported on those hacktivists who have taken it upon themselves to do the job the government refuses to do.

Well those pay for freely obtained information terrorist trackers (self proclaimed),
at the SITE Intelligence Group noticed that certain jihadist forums seemed to be
experiencing technical problems on the eve of Sept. 11th.

We hate to inform the brain trust at SITE, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Some foreign Intelligence agencies as well as hacktivists are creating complete jihadist websites,
gathering information on users, collecting Open Source Intelligence (OSI), provided by the wannabe jihadists as well as the actual jihadists.

Most jihadist forums are where forums in Western countries were in the late 80's technology wise.
Often their hosting systems are slow to apply security patches because the
system operators are using pirated or free copies of Western software.

Since most can't comprehend English, they are just happy if they get a basic
system up and running.
These basic systems are highly susceptible to Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks.

So yes, when As-Sahab announces a "New Release From Osama",
these forums invite attacks from every ankle biting script kiddie that can
download a script.

So yes, there are serious orchestrated efforts,
but there are even more disorganized amateurs.
